A cheap offer becomes costly if it compromises quality and safety.
Focusing exclusively on price can divert attention from quality and safety. A competitive price is an advantage when the product meets requirements, information is verifiable and risks have been assessed; it does not replace those checks.
To compare proposals on the same basis, make these elements visible:
- Incoterm, port, freight and insurance included.
- Currency, validity and payment terms.
- Inspection, documentation and adaptation costs.
- Actual lead time and the production impact of delay.
- Risk of rejection, waste or specification failure.
The goal is not always to choose the lowest price, but to understand the economic and operational outcome the company is buying.
